"Howard Lester, age 75, a lifelong resident of Miami, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 6:45 AM. He was born in Pinehurst, Georgia, to his mother, Mariah Lester.
Howard was preceded in death by his siblings Plumer Holsey, Arthur Woodson (Virginia), James Lester (Alberta), Joe Lester, Elijah Bemely, and his sister Sarah Lester. He is survived by one sibling, Lijah Bemely. He is survived by one uncle Johnny B Lester (Robbie)
Howard shared two meaningful unions during his lifetime. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rosetta Mariah Lester. He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Larry Lyons (Meshe), Shanterra Lester, Shaqueen Vanzant (Robert), Howard Andrew Lester, Joshua Devonte Lester, along with his goddaughter, Talisha Woods.
Howard graduated from South Dade Senior High School and went on to dedicate 38 years of service to Housing Urban Development, Miami-Dade County. He was a hardworking man who found joy in helping others. He loved and cherished his church family. The Agape Faith Center Church, not only did he love his church, he was a founding and dedicated Member for the past 29 years and licensed Minister at Agape Faith Center, which he held a special bond with his late pastor, Pastor Jonathan R Howard, Sr.
In his free time, Howard enjoyed fishing and was known for being an avid handyman. He took pride in fixing things and never hesitated to use his skills to help those in need. He was also remembered for one of his favorite sayings: "When you know that you know that you know, can't nobody take what you know"
Howard is survived by twenty-three grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
May his legacy of service, love, and faith continue to inspire all who knew him, and may his spirit live on through the lives he touched especially the family he dearly loved, who will forever carry his memory forward."
