Valerie Denise Hamilton was born on March 11, 1962,to the late Annie Mae Hamilton and the late James Alexander Hamilton. From her earliest days, she carried a spirit marked by generosity, humor, and deep devotion to those she loved. On Tuesday, January 6, 2026, Valerie was called home to rest leaving behind a legacy shaped by compassion and commitment to family. She received her education at Gulfstream Elementary, Centennial Junior High, and Miami Southridge Senior High, building the foundation for a life dedicated to service and care. Valerie spent many years working as a crossing guard and later managing a group home for special‑needs boys, roles that reflected her natural instinct to nurture, and uplift others. She loved to dance, filling countless gatherings with joy and laughter. Above all, she treasured time with her family—especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Valerie was preceded in death by her sister Tonya Hill, brother Jeffery Hamilton, and sister Helen Valenzuela. She leaves to cherish her memory her children Tameka Hamilton, Quintin Hamilton, Sharquila Brown, Sharnice Brown, and Darius Hamilton; her sisters Selina Davis (the late George), Linda Hamilton- Martin, Elaine Stevenson (Christopher), Alfreda Hamilton, Janet Smith (William), and Joyce Mason (Gene), along with, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She leaves behind grandchildren Marty Jones, Myesha Jones, Sierra Crews, Martavis Brown, Za'naya Brown, Sharmaria Brown, Mo'Niece Brown, Elijah Brown,Josiah Brown, Darius Carr, Simone Carr, Jonathan Carr Jr., Clayton Brown, Alijah Brown, Dream Hamilton, Amarion Carr, Darrell Osgood, Dior Hamilton, and Quintin Hamilton, Jr. Valerie's home was a refuge for anyone in need, and over the years she embraced many new loved ones as family. She leaves behind her bonus daughter Marcilla Brown, bonus sons Walter Bryant and Reginal Pierre, bonus grandchild Carmauria Brown, bonus niece Nina Judey, and special nephew Lamont Hodge. She was preceded in death by her special friend Clayton Brown and leaves behind her dear friend George Stubbs, as well as two lifelong friends, Rosa Jackson and Trenda Little. Valerie's warmth, generosity, and boundless love will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched.
