The Journey of Life

On September 6, 2025, our beloved Victor Maurice Leaks, Sr., affectionately known as "Spanky," peacefully exchanged his earthly labor for eternal rest. Although our hearts grieve, we rejoice in the knowledge that his battle has been fought, the victory has been won, and his soul now resides in eternal peace.

Victor was born on July 30, 1956, in Princeton, Florida, to the late Rosie Iola and James Russell Leaks. He was lovingly raised by his stepfather, Cornelius Andrew Lee, who also predeceased him. As the oldest of four children, Victor assumed leadership and responsibility from a very young age.

He spent his formative years in Princeton, where he attended Pine Villa Elementary School and Mays Junior High School. Upon moving to Goulds, Florida, Victor completed his studies and proudly graduated from South Dade High School with the class of 1975.

A Man of Faith

Victor confessed Christ at an early age and joined Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend W. Faison. His faith journey continued steadfastly, and he later rejoined Morning Star under the guidance of Reverend Timothy T. Shellman, where he faithfully served on the usher board. His dedication to God and the church was evident through his service and quiet strength.

Service and Dedication

Victor was a man of great experience and hard work. July 1, 1979 he enlisted in the United Stated Military where he served his country. He dedicated eight years of service as a custodian in the Miami-Dade County Public School System, where his diligence, reliability, and work ethic earned him the admiration of colleagues and students. He was also employed at the CHI Clinic in Goulds, Florida, from 1977 to 1992, where his compassion and commitment to serving the community left a lasting impact on coworkers and patients. Years later, he proudly considered his role as patriarch, devoting his time to raising and nurturing his grandchildren: Victor M. Leaks III, Kayla R. Leaks,Kasen M. Leaks, Travarria M. Leaks, Zahara Leaks, and Travarris M. Leaks Jr., who brought immeasurable joy to his life. To them, he was not only "Gee Daddy," but a constant source ofwisdom, love, and encouragement.

A Cherished Legacy

Victor leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and faith. He is fondly remembered by: Children: Darius Baker, Victor M. Leaks Jr., Travarris M. Leaks Sr (Ashleigh Wilson) Chiria Wiggins, Demetria Leaks, and Latrice Bryant-Leaks; daughter-in-law Keisha Holley Leaks; grandchildren: Victor M. Leaks III, Kayla R. Leaks, Kasen M. Leaks, Travarria M. Leaks, Zahara Leaks, Travarris M. Leaks Jr., Damion Davis Jr., Camryn Clark Leaks, Anriel Williams, Lovel Williams, Zion Williams, Zaria Williams, and Jordyn Williams; Sisters: Tammy Leaks, Brenda Bain, and his brother, Cornelius Lee; sister-in-law: Ketlie Lee; brothers-in-law: Wendell Bain, Larry Burden, and Robert Burden; Aunt: Stella Ealy; uncles: Alphonso Lee and George Washington Ealy godsisters: Rosetta Smith and Marshall Malone; devoted nephew: Eric V. Leaks Jr. A very special thank you for the love shown to our dad and grandfather, our special friend, Addie Jones, and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and dear friends.

Preceded in Glory

Victor is joined in eternal rest by; his maternal grandparents, Annie Mae and Sam Ealy; his paternal grandparents, Isaiah and Lillie Major Leaks; his aunts, Gwendolyn Everette, Bennye Bullock, Elizabeth and Daisy Ealy, Maryella, Annie Pearl, Dorabell, Juanita and Mary Lee, Annie Pearl Pierson, and Nadine Anderson; his uncles, Sam and Artis Ealy, Nathaniel Bullock, James, Robert Albert, Eugene, Thomas and Sylvester Lee, Charlie Anderson, and Edward Pierson; his brother, Eric V. Leaks Sr.; his sisters, Annette Walker and Pamela Leaks; his sisters-in-law, Barbara Ann Burden Leaks, Lucy Kate, and Elaine Burden; and his brother-in-law, Willie Frank Burden.

A Final Tribute

Victor Maurice Leaks, Sr., affectionately known as "Spanky," will forever be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love of family, his steadfast work ethic, and the warmth he provided to all who crossed his path. His memory will remain a beacon of love and strength, reminding us that,although he is no longer in this world, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved him
